The real problem
It's rarely bad practice. It's no practice — or no word of it.
Ask any teacher what gets in the way: a student who didn't pick up the instrument this week, or one who did — and you won't know which until they're in front of you, guessing along with them. Both come from the same gap: six days nobody watches. Teyks closes it daily, for the student and parent as much as you — not a streak to keep alive, just an honest record of what happened.
What you get
One short brief per student, before the lesson.
- Whether they practised, and on which days
- How long, and how many takes
- That each take is checked against the piece you set — and if one can't be measured, you're told that plainly, not left guessing
- What tempo they settled at, and whether it held
- Which parts of the piece the time went into

What Teyks will not do
Teyks reports what happened. It does not judge your student.

It will not judge your student. How well they played is your call, not a machine's.

Nothing evaluative reaches a student unless you send it. Plain facts go straight to them; anything that reads like judgment waits for you.

No streaks, points or badges. A child should practise because it's worth doing, not to keep a number alive.

It does not listen in live. Only the takes a student records and submits — never a continuous stream, never in the background.

During the pilot, we do not train AI models on your students' recordings.

Is Teyks free right now?
Yes. It's free to sign up and use during the pre-pilot — nothing is for sale yet.
Which instrument does it support?
Guitar first. Other instruments may come later, but that isn't decided yet.
Does it record my students without asking?
No. No child is recorded until a parent has read what we do and agreed, on their own phone — and they can withdraw at any time.
Will it grade or score my students?
No. Teyks reports what happened in practice — how much, how long, what tempo. What it means is your call, not a machine's.
Are the recordings used to train AI models?
Not during the pilot. We do not train AI models on your students' recordings while we're at this early stage.
